Abalone Shell Carved Cameo Brooch

Measures 1-3/8 x 1-3/4". The lovely woman in profile is carved of abalone shell and set in a simple silver frame. Safety clasp holds well. Fold-down bale allows use as pendant, as well. Marked 800 (but poorly struck, so the 8 is difficult to read). This indicates a silver purity of 800 parts per 1000, compared to sterling which is 925 parts.
