Takahashi Male and Female Bluebird Pins

Each measures about 1 x 1-7/8". These exquisite little handcarved wooden are finely painted with breathtaking detail. Much of the brushwork appears to have been accomplished with a single hair brush. The twisted copper legs hold tightly to tiny wooden perches. The significance of this mated pair of birds is especially touching because they were carved by Yoneguma Takahashi and painted by his wife, Kiyoka Takahashi. This delicate pair is an outstanding example of their work. Safety clasp holds well. No chips or other damage to the paint, wood, or metal legs. (SOLD)
