Old Mexican "Married Metals" Modernist Pin

Measures 1-1/2" diameter. This sterling pin is inlaid with brass, copper, and what appears to be black enameling and a finely powdered turquoise mosaic. The Modernist design is intriguing and compelling. The mark is not complete, as the initials in the center of the circle are not sharp enough to read, but the circle reads STERLING MEX TAXCO 95. There is also a production number - 10. Safety clasp holds well. Hook at top permits use as pendant or enhancer, as well. Very good condition, with no missing turquoise or enamel. Slight wear to the lacquer surface over the brass and copper. Dates to before 1948. (SOLD)
