Mazer "Marcel Boucher" Art Deco Rhinestone Brooch/Clips
Item #AU1372010
This brooch consists of 2 Art Deco dress clips held together on a pin-back mechanism. Total size is 1-3/8 x 2-3/4". The brilliant white rhinestones are in round and baguette shapes, set in silver-tone rhodium plating. Marked U.S. PAT. 2034129 OTHER PAT. PEND. This patent was awarded to Marcel Boucher in 1936, while he was still working as a designer for the Mazer Company. The patent is for the clasping mechanism which holds the 2 clips together. It is not certain whether Boucher also designed the clip fronts. A year after this patent was awarded Boucher left Mazer to found his own company. Clip backs hold well. Safety clasp holds well. No missing or dead rhinestones. (SOLD)
