Dancing Toreador Sterling Brooch

Measures 1-3/4 x 2-1/2". This finely sculpted, heavy brooch shows what appears to be a toreador dancing with a maraca. The maraca is set with a turquoise cabochon. Marked SILVER MADE IN MEXICO. This is the mark found on Mexican sterling from the 1930s and 1940s, prior to 1948. Safety clasp holds well. Pin stem has been slightly bent and straightened over the years.
