Carved Ivory Flower Brooch & Earrings Set

Brooch measures 1-1/2" in diameter. Earrings measure 5/8" in diameter. Each piece is intricately carved from pre-ban elephant ivory, with blue and yellow hand-painted centers. The petals of the flowers have lots of energy and implied movement. The earring posts and brooch pin assembly are plated in gold-tone, but the earring card reads 800S Elfenbein. Elfenbein is the German word meaning ivory. The metal is 800 silver, which is 80% silver, as compared to sterling which is 92.5% silver. The brooch pin assembly is attached to the ivory with tiny screws, a sign of durability and quality. No chips, cracks, soiling, or other signs of wear.
