Chinese Silver Art Deco Carnelian Brooch

Measures 3/4 x 1-7/8". This outstanding brooch features a beautifully cut rectangle of carnelian and dates to the 1920s. Framing it is a finely engraved Art Deco-inspired foliar motif. The silver appears to be of a high purity, though it is not hallmarked sterling. There is a Chinese maker's mark. This brooch came to us without a pin stem. The current stem was skillfully added by Rhinestone Rosie and is indistinguishable from what was probably original to the piece. Rich patina of vintage silver has been left undisturbed except for a light wipe with a Sunshine Cloth to bring out the beauty of the engraving. $165.00 (Includes insured shipping to a U.S.A. address)
