Trifari White Queen Chess Man Clip

This outstanding fur clip measures 7/8 x 1-1/2". It is gold vermeil over sterling, with white enamel on the face and blue enamel on the crown. Geen and white rhinestones accent the crown. She wears a white rhinestone necklace. Blue rhinestones accent the chess piece base. The features of her face are painted in gold paint over the enamel, including the dot of gold on the tip of her nose. Marked TRIFARI with a crown, no copyright date, STERLING, and DES. PAT. 140843. This patent number dates the piece to 1945 and identifies the designer as Alfred Philippe. No wear to enameling or gold vermeil. No missing or dead stones. Clip back holds well, but has some play - would work well on a thick garment or could be tightened as desired.
