1910 Enameled Arts & Crafts California Brooch

Measures 1-3/4" in diameter. This beautiful brooch features a stylized rendition of the Great Seal of California. Enameled California poppies and what appear to be poinsettias frame the seated allegorical figure of California and her bear. Behind them the setting sun is framed by the Golden Gate, long before the famous bridge was built. The banner at the top of the brooch reads CALIFORNIA 1910. We have been unable to determine the event for which this beautiful piece of Arts & Crafts style comemmorative jewely was created. C-clasp holds well. Marked COOPER ADVERTISING CO. SAN FRANCISCO. One tiny flea-bite chip to the enameling of one poppy. Light patina of silver plated metal left undisturbed. $75.00 (Includes insured shipping to a U.S.A. address)
