Margot de Taxco Modernist Sterling Clamper Bracelet

Measures 1-3/4" wide at overlapping front, 1-1/4" wide at narrowest, 1-1/2" wide at hinge. This outstanding bracelet weighs a very substantial 4.2 ounces (120 grams). The bold design is Modernist at its sleekest, strongest best. The repousse' half-balls are graduated from 4.5 to 12 mm. and are framed within the long rectangular cut-out section of each half of the bracelet. The spring hinge is snug. Marked MARGOT DE TAXCO, STERLING MADE IN MEXICO, with an Eagle 16 mark, and with the inventory number 5247. Produced and sold by Margot van Voorhies Carr, this is an early and rare piece of her unenameled repousse' silver-work. The bracelet came to us polished to a high shine, but time will restore the patina desired by collectors of vintage silver. (SOLD)
