Walter Lampl World War II U.S. Army Air Forces Bangle Bracelet

Item #DC1211322

Measures 7-5/8" inside circumference and just over 1/4" wide. The design motif is a repeating pattern of openwork winged propellors. This represents the U.S. Army Air Forces, the World War 2 predecessor of today's Air Force. Marked PAT. D136039 by LAMPL. This U.S. patent number is for a "Ring or the Like." Lampl used this patent in the creation of Army and Navy rings, in addition to this delightful USAAF bangle bracelet. These are all examples of Sweetheart Jewelry, which was worn to honor and support loved ones in these branches of military service during World War II. Link or charm style sweetheart bracelets are commonly seen, but this bangle is a very rare form. No signs of wear or use. Light patina of vintage silver. (SOLD)
