Ledesma Abstract Animal Design Cuff Bracelet
Item #BH122297
Measures 1-5/8" wide at front of cuff. Inside circumference is 6", with a 7/8" gap. This sensational bracelet is by the great Enrique Ledesma, considered one of the greatest Taxco silversmiths of the 1950s. The cuff is made of anodyzed sterling, colored a dark blue-gray, with an applied abstraction of a rapidly moving animal - perhaps a horse or a coyote. Ledesma was educated as a sculptor at the San Carlos Academy of Art in Mexico City, but received his early training as a silversmith from his father, working in his silver workshop as a boy. This bracelet demonstrates his superior silversmithing artistry and also his remarkable skills as a modernist sculptor. Marked LEDESMA TAXCO MADE IN MEXICO 925 and with the eagle mark with the number 3 inside it. Excellent patina of old silver. (SOLD)
