Outstanding Quetzlcoatl Mexican Sterling Bracelet

Measures 3/4" wide and 7" inside circumference. This extraordinary bracelet weighs 2.9 ounces. The strong Modern interpretation of the classic Feathered Serpent imagery is applied to the bangle in high relief. The background surface of the bangle has rich charcoal gray niello for beautiful contrast. The hinged bracelet is held shut by an invisible slide clasp. The catch for the clasp is a bar which bisects the bangle and is incorporated unobtrusively into the design. Marked MEXICO TAXCO 925 in a circle around the initials GMB. The bracelet also has the eagle hallmark with the number 3. No dents or other signs of damage. Very slight wear to the edges of the niello. This bracelet dates to the 1950s to early 1960s. (SOLD)
