1950s Alfredo Villasana Sterling Clamper Bracelet
Item #AQ123231
Measures 1-1/4" wide at hinge, 3-1/2" wide at front. Inside circumference is 7" when fully closed, but will accommodate a larger wrist. This elegant Modernist bracelet has a sweeping double wave motif. Fully hallmarked VILLASANA, STERLING 925, HECHO EN MEXICO TAXCO in a circle around the conjoined AV mark, and with the eagle mark with a 3 inside. This is a beautiful example of the work of the master silversmith Alfredo Villasana. Villasana worked for both William Spratling and Hector Aguilar before establishing his own workshop in the 1950s. The condition of this wonderful bracelet is excellent. The spring is tight and there is only one small dent on the back of the bracelet, near the hinge. Because of the hollow construction used in these bracelets it is rare to find them in such outstanding condition. Light patina of vintage silver has been left undisturbed. (SOLD)
