Early D.F.B. Co. "Carmen" Deluxe Locket Expansion Bracelet

Item #AA1252911

Front locket measures 3/4" in diameter. When fully contracted, the bracelet has an inside circumference of 4-5/8". Will easily expand to fit nearly any wrist. This lovely sentimental piece has a locket face engraved with 2 hearts and a floral motif. One heart is engraved S and the other is engraved V. The bracelet is marked DELUXE MADE IN U.S.A. THE D.F.B. CO. CARMEN. This is the mark for the D.F. Briggs Company of Attleboro, MA, which began around 1892 and changed its name after 1922 to Briggs, Bates, & Bacon. The Carmen bracelet was first made around 1900. This appears to be one of the early bracelets by this company, before they changed their name. The locket is empty, but has been hand engraved inside with Xs (for kisses). It snaps tightly shut. The expandable band is strong and intact, with no damage to the spring mechanism. No wear or damage to gold-tone plating. (SOLD)
